Our Story

Our Wine

The native Protea Nitida, or Wagon Tree, gave South African settlers the means to prosper in wild and unknown lands. Its fine timber made strong wagon wheels that carried travellers across the empty wilderness, while the glossy leaves made ink that enabled the earlier settlers to charter the history and romance of this great country.

The Wagon Tree also became an indication of the perfect location for growing vines. Planted in the same fertile soil as this distinctive tree, the vines flourish. Producing rich and flavourful grapes kissed by the warm Southern African sun and nurtured by the cool ocean breeze carried down through the lush green valleys of the Western Cape.
